Comedy at Callies

Come check out a comedy show like no other! What else are you going to do on a Thursday night? The show will be over in time for you to still get home in time for a good night's sleep to prepare you for the inevitable water cooler talk on Friday morning at work.

Storytelling comedian, Jon Forward is the host of Saint Jon Forward Radio on Local FM, the creator of Saint John's longest running underground comedy show (No Jokes Barred) and had a successful run of his one-man-storytelling show (Honey Garlic) at the Fundy Fringe Festival. He can also be seen on webseries like Hoveland and Hard Times. He hasn't been crowned champion of the 2018 Sunday Laughter Dark Roast Battle Tournament yet, but he thinks he might. Jon has headlined shows at the Governor's Ballroom at the Delta in Fredericton along with many times at O'Leary's Pub. He has also performed with many national headliners including James Mullinger, K Trevor Wilson, Darren Frost, Kathleen McGee, Scott Belford and Andrew Albert. Most impressively, he was named "Saint John's #2 Stand Up Comedian" by reputable news-source, JonForward.com

Your featured act: A master of stand up comedy, Adam Landry is Saint John's best and funniest comedian BY FAR. But tonight Adam is taking off his comedy hat (Which is very funny) to tell you all about his life, and how hard a life he's had. It's not going to be like Jon's Garlic Show but it's going to be way better than it was!

Your host: The Reverend Brian Giles has been attempting to quit doing stand up comedy for over twenty years but continues to be called back to the stage. He has performed at clubs, colleges, coffee shops, and closed casket funerals for crowds as large as seven.

The good Reverends material ranges from the tepidly obscene to mildly absurd situational observations about life as a homesteader, husband, and hippy.

Brian has performed with or (very near) Bob Marley, George Hamm, Brian Bringer, Steven Wright, and Elvis.

Doors at 7:30 and the show will start at 8:00

$8 Advance until October 24th and $10 at the door on show day.

Brand-Name comedy club chains serve their purpose, but if you limit yourself to only safe bets, you'll never see anything new or frightening or fun. You need to jump into the muck if you wanna wake up with a good story". - Doug Stanhope
